Comparative Reports
NRCPR provides quarterly and annual comparative reports to participating facilities.
These reports are comprehensive packages that describe resuscitation events, processes
of care and patient outcomes. The participant reports compare a participants data
with data from an appropriate peer group, and assist in identifying opportunities
for improvements in resuscitation practice. Reports are based both on data submitted
during the quarter and on previously submitted data. Selected reports separate patients
less than eighteen years old from older patients. Click to

Report Benefits For Your Facility
Each report has individual benefits. However, when used as a group, the NRCPR participant
reports become a powerful means of improving process of care and patient outcomes.
Some reports focus on processes, others on outcomes, and still others provide descriptive
information (incidence of events, etc.). Using these different types of reports
together enables an institution to more effectively evaluate and monitor resuscitation
practice, identify opportunities for improvement, and optimize staff training and
resource allocation.
The following is an example of how these reports could be used:
You notice in the Gold Process Variables Report the median response interval
in the delivery of Epinephrine is long, and in the Process of Care Exceptions Report
there is an unusually high percentage of cases where the time for administration
of IV/IO Epinephrine exceeds NRCPR practice guidelines. As a result of this data
indicating an inappropriate response, you assign a performance improvement team
to identify the root cause of the problem, design and then implement an improvement
process. Subsequent NRCPR reports could help determine if the desired results have
been obtained.
